The Power Generation Graduate Certificate program is available to professional engineers and para-professionals and will provide students with expert skills to meet the emerging needs of the power generation industry. Para-professionals working within the power generation industry can enrol in this specialised educational pathway to obtain a recognised university qualification in power generation.
Students can elect to enrol in the Graduate Certificate program at any of the partner universities.
Program options
Graduate Certificate in Power Generation, Central Queensland University (CQU)
or
Graduate Certificate (Power Generation), Queensland University of Technology (QUT)
or
Graduate Certificate in Engineering Science (Power Generation), The University of Queensland (UQ)
Program structure
To obtain a Graduate Certificate award, students must complete four courses: three core courses and one elective.
Graduate Certificate students choose three from five core courses:
- Introduction to Power Plant
- Asset Management Systems
- Rotating Machinery
- Project Delivery
- Regulation, Compliance and Safety
Students can then choose one from the following 13 electives:
- Applied Thermodynamics
- Advanced Power Plant
- Plant Control Systems
- Power Plant Chemistry
- Bulk Materials and Waste Products
- Industrial Power Distribution
- Plant Materials
- Generator Technology Design and Application
- Transformer Technology Design and Operation
- Industrial Power Systems
- Gas Plant and Systems
- Asset Management Systems
- Project Delivery
