Asset Management Systems (CQU)
Course Code:

ENPG21001
Course Name:

Asset Management Systems (CQU)
Course Description:

This course provides an overview of Asset Management Systems. It is intended to optimise the lifespan of assets through integrated approach linking systems, asset strategies and analysis of failures for corrective and preventive measures to enhance reliability, availability, maintainability, safety and security. Asset Management Systems helps to maximise service and minimise the cost and risk factors of operational assets. Effective asset management can make the difference between profit or loss, compliance or non-compliance and leading the market or falling behind. This course introduces a risk based approach to decision-making in asset management.

General topics include
  • Key concepts supported by the various management systems in daily operations, including points of integration and interfaces between the numerous management systems encountered in large industrial plants.
  • Develop asset management strategies and monitor their effectiveness.
  • Apply the risk-based approach for ensuring assets are managed to achieve the desired outcomes.
  • Describe and explain the complex and diverse responsibilities of managing a large industrial asset.
  • Develop proposals for project development that meet established viability criteria.
  • Evaluate options for project development in continual improvement in asset management.
