Dr Ramesh Bansal received his M.E. degree from Delhi College of Engineering in 1996, M.B.A. degree from Indira Gandhi National Open University in 1997, and Ph.D. degree from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in 2003. Before joining The University of Queensland as a Senior Lecturer in 2008, he was teaching at The Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, India and at The University of the South Pacific, Suva, Fiji. He has also worked in The Civil Construction Wing, All India Radio, for nine years. His current research interests include reactive power control in renewable energy systems and conventional power systems, power system optimization, analysis of induction generators, and artificial intelligence techniques applications in power systems. Dr. Bansal has published more than 120 papers in journals and conference proceedings and he is a Senior Member of IEEE, a member of the Institution of Engineers (India) and has been serving as a member of editorial boards in a number of IEEE and IET Journals.
